Arizona 2009

We were in Tucson November 5-10 and I took a lot of photos of Owen - and a couple of photos of other people...

Here they are -

No-mow flowers

Here's a photo of the south yard and the 'no-mow' area around our house. The 'no-mow' was pasture up to ten years ago. It still has many pasture grasses and alfalfa plants, but we have also planted a number of prairie flowers here.

This photo is a composite of several shots that I stitched together using Photoshop.

Everybody at the Farm - July 2-5, 2009

I made up several slideshows of photos. Find them here.

Hera, the ox-eyed goddess

Here are a couple of inquisitive heifers that Melvin put out in our pasture.

The Egri sculpture is finally up!

With help from Kim and Melvin we finally put up Ted Egri's shadow sculpture. It has been lying on the ground for six or seven years and has acquired a nice patina.

Orioles in May

We have a few orioles around this time of year. They are partial to sweets and we offer them oranges but some prefer the stronger stuff from our hummingbird feeders and will go to great lengths to get it.

w & w in New Mexico

We were in New Mexico March 30-April 5. We spent the night of March 30 in Santa Fe, then went up to Dixon where we stayed in Celeste and Sarita's Casita for five nights. We did some visiting and a bit of walking, climbing Cerro del Abrevedano between Dixon and Ojo Sarco and (almost) climbing Cerro Pederanl near Abiquiu.
