Here's a video of sorts:

It was a dark and stormy night in Vermont. I had arrived a few hours earlier after a two and a half hour ride from Burlington in a taxi driven by a guy who:
1. Did not have a map.
2. Had a GPS but did not know how to use it.
3. Could not read road signs even when I read them out to him (something wrong here).
I have two photo shows going on this spring - one is currently up at the U-Frame-It Gallery, 857 East Johnson St, Madison, WI (608) 257-7717. It consists of six canvas pieces ranging in size from 8" x 10" to 24" x 13"
The second show is the April 'Photographer of the Month' at the Center for Photography at Madison, 303 S. Paterson St., Madison, Wisconsin. The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 3 at 7 PM. The show consists of about 20 images ranging from color to black and white and including some other canvas work.
Way back in April I watched our neighbor Gid Miller make maple syrup using a wood fired boiler made in Rutland, Vermont. Not sure about the manufacturing date, but from all the stainless steel in it, I would guess 1960s or possibly later.
Here's a slideshow of the process (Gid, for obvious reasons, does not appear):Sugaring 2013
Another month in Vermont. Snow and the usual suspect photographs.
At first I did some work with a teakettle and cold air coming through a window.
Then when I went outside the moon, Jupiter, the Pleiades, the Hyades and Aldebaran were visible along with the condensing plume from the building's boiler:
My 2013 photo show is now up at the Lowell Center, located at 610 Langdon Street in Madison.
The Lowell Center is open to the public from 7 AM to 9 PM.
Phone:(608) 256-2621.
I couldn't have gotten the show up without the assistance of Wayne Brabender and Reece Donihi, fish-line tiers extraordinaire.
Here's a link to a .PDF version of the show:2013 Lowell Center Photos.
It's a big file and takes a while to load....
Fall arrived at exactly 9:50 AM on September 22, 2012.
Here are the east fields in mid-afternoon. Some of the maples are beginning to turn down in the valley.
And here's Meridian Road around the same time.
My new D800E finally arrived and I have been having some fun with it -
The obligatory hummingbirds:
And an equally obligatory sunflower:
Once more, I'm at the Vermont Studio Center with my camera and got these photos - more by the gift of God than by my own abilities, but here they are.
This one was taken from the Gihon bridge in the dark of night:
These were taken from the old dye works across the river and processed with Photoshop High Dynamic Range:
The Annual School Art Show opened Monday night in the Wolf-Kahn Studio building at the Vermont Studio Center
